Transport Lumber
The Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway Company (W&LE) handles significant carloads of lumber and panel products every year in center beam flat cars, high cube box cars, stake flat cars, and bulkhead flat cars, for over fifteen shippers and receivers.
Shipments include engineered wood products, dimensional lumber, treated wood utility poles, particleboard, plywood, oak timbers, and oriented strand board (OSB).
As the largest regional railroad in Ohio, we offer over 840 miles of track through Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
W&LE has direct connections with three Class I railroads and interchanges with 14 Class II and Class III railroads for fast, efficient, and more cost-effective transport for lumber.
