W&LE Facility & Transload Locations

Our goal at the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway Company (W&LE) is to provide our customers with the most comprehensive package of information needed to benefit from cost savings by utilizing the long haul economics of rail combined with the flexibility of local truck delivery.

Our service area includes 840 miles of track operating in:

  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • West Virginia
  • Maryland

Moving freight by rail, even for a portion of a long haul, provides a number of benefits, including:

  • Higher freight hauling capacity – 1 railcar is equivalent to 3 or 4 truckloads, meaning we can deliver your freight in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
  • More reliable – Trains are able to keep moving in most weather conditions.
  • Economic – Fuel costs are cheaper for trains than for trucks, bringing down your overall transportation costs.

About Our Ohio Railroad
